Nothing’s affordable sub-brand CMF is making a comeback by introducing a range of new devices designed to shake up the entry-level market. In addition to the brand’s newest CMF Phone and Watch Pro models, the Buds Pro earbuds are also being released as part of the second generation.

The new CMF Buds Pro (2) have been officially released and are available for pre-order.

The new Buds Pro (2) is now available in a blue color option, adding to the existing orange, dark grey, and light grey options from the first generation. The Buds Pro (2) also comes with a matching charging case and features a compact design and Smart Dial functionality.

Users are able to use the Smart Dial to control volume and customize its functions for various tasks such as changing noise cancellation settings, controlling music playback, and skipping tracks.

Furthermore, the Smart Dial has the capability to activate Voice Assistant, respond to or terminate calls, silence the microphone, and switch Low Lag Mode on and off. Users can choose to disable the Smart Dial permanently to avoid unintended presses. These settings can be modified using the Nothing X app.

However, the Nothing X app provides more than just that. One example is the ability for users to adjust bass performance directly from the app. The Buds Pro (2) includes a dual-driver system with an 11mm bass driver and a 6mm tweeter. These earbuds also support hybrid active noise cancellation and a transparency mode, and they are certified for Hi-Res audio with spatial audio effects.

The Buds Pro (2) also guarantees clear and sharp phone calls, as each earbud is equipped with three microphones and enhanced by Nothing’s Clear Voice Technology 2.0.

The company guarantees that each earbud is powered by a 60mAh battery, and the case contains a 460mAh battery pack to ensure they stay charged.

  • Listening time with active noise cancellation turned off can last up to 43 hours with the charging case and up to 11 hours with just the earbuds.
  • When active noise cancellation or Transparency Mode is enabled, listening time can last up to 26 hours with the case and up to 6.5 hours with just the earbuds.

The new buds also come with fast charging capabilities, enabling a rapid ten-minute charge that offers three hours of battery life for the buds by themselves or up to seven hours when considering the case without ANC activated. When ANC is turned on, the buds guarantee 1.8 hours of battery life on their own and up to six hours with the case included.

The new Buds Pro (2) supports Bluetooth 5.3 for pairing and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. It also supports Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. In addition, users can access ChatGPT integration, enabling them to directly call up ChatGPT from their CMF or Nothing phone.

I believe that the new audio product from CMF shows great potential, as it includes many features usually seen in more expensive earbuds but at an affordable price. In conclusion, the Buds Pro (2) is equipped with specifications and design that make it competitive with other entry-level earbuds.

Later this month, you can purchase a pair of Buds Pro (2) for $59 in the US and £59 in the UK from the cmf. tech site and various other stores. The sub-brand Nothing will be launching in the US, UK, Europe, and India.
