There is someone out there who is already experimenting with One UI 7, which is Samsung’s user interface for Android 15.

No, we’re not discussing the Galaxy S24+ that was recently seen on Geekbench running on Android 15. Instead, we’re focusing on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which stands out from the rest of us still using Android 14.

Samsung is heavily involved in the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, but the company also has other priorities, such as the upcoming One UI 7 update for Galaxy devices.

The well-known leaker Tarun Vats, who previously leaked the Galaxy S24+ story, is the one who spotted the Galaxy S23 Ultra packed with One UI 7. The Galaxy S24+ achieved a single-core score of 2114 and a multi-core score of 6616 on Geekbench 6, showing an improvement from the previous model running Android 14, which scored 6469 in the multi-core test.

The device packing One UI 7 is a carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy S23 Ultra in the US. Samsung appears to be testing Android 15 on its existing phones before releasing it for public beta testing via the One UI 7.0 Beta Program in the near future, following Google’s announcement of platform stability.

It is anticipated that Samsung will launch the One UI 7.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 first, before offering it to users of the Galaxy S23 series. After a brief testing period of around 2 to 3 months, Samsung may release the stable version of One UI 7 for other high-end phones in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series.

Once the One UI 7.0 update is implemented on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the phone will still have two more Android OS updates left. Samsung has promised to deliver four significant Android OS updates and five years of security updates for the Galaxy S23 lineup. This pledge also extends to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.

It is highly probable that the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 will receive Android OS updates and security updates for seven years.
