Samsung's apps are receiving support for One UI 6.1.1 ahead of the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Samsung is preparing for one of its most crucial launch events of the year. The upcoming Unpacked event has been officially announced for July 10, and we anticipate that the South Korean company will focus heavily on foldable devices.
Next month, at least two high-end foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, will be unveiled. Other Galaxy products such as the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Buds 3/Pro are also expected to make appearances. While the hardware details are already known, there are rumors of surprises in store with the software. The event is anticipated to showcase the new One UI 6.1.1 on Samsung’s latest foldable devices as a standout feature.
The major OS update is expected to be released for other devices as well, and Samsung may provide more information about this during the event. The evidence that the smartphone manufacturer will soon release One UI 6.1.1 for additional Galaxy devices is the recent updates to its apps with support for this version.
The team at SamMobile noticed that at least one module of the Good Lock app, Theme Park, has been updated to support One UI 6.1.1. Given the importance of Good Lock as a customization app, Samsung may be looking to provide Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 users with early access to it upon the release of these phones. Other apps may also require updates to be compatible with the new devices.
Although the full One UI 6.1.1 changelog has not been released, it is rumored that the update will include several enhancements, such as the ability to have a vertical app drawer on the home screen and additional Galaxy AI features.
