Google to continue selling the original Pixel Fold

Earlier this week, Google officially unveiled the Pixel 9 family, which includes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the successor to last year’s original Pixel Fold. Following the announcement, the Google Store marked the Pixel Fold as “no longer available,” but it seems this status won’t last long.

Although we might have expected Google to discontinue the Pixel Fold following the release of its successor, it turns out that’s not happening. Google has confirmed that the Pixel Fold will indeed make a comeback.

The company will resume selling the Pixel Fold once the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is released on September 4. If you were eager to get a Pixel Fold but missed the opportunity earlier, don’t worry—you’ll have another chance in early September.

Californians can soon add driver’s licenses to Apple Wallet

Google hasn’t disclosed if the original Pixel Fold will get a price cut now that its successor is available. However, we speculate that the company might reduce the price by around $100 or so. While this likely won’t significantly boost sales, it would prevent complaints about the lack of any price reduction. This approach is similar to Apple’s, and we see no reason why Google wouldn’t follow suit.
