Not only does Samsung produce some of the top Android phones, but they also create the best OLED panels. However, this doesn’t guarantee that their smartphone division will receive priority access to these top offerings. It appears that Samsung’s best display will be used in the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series and Apple iPhone 16 Pro models.

It has been reported that Apple’s 2024 Pro models and Google’s entire upcoming lineup will both utilize the M14 OLED technology. Samsung is known for being a top player in the industry, particularly in the production of high-performance OLED screens using cutting-edge materials.

The M series screens from the company are the most advanced displays they offer. A screen with a higher model number signifies a superior quality.

The upcoming Pixel 9 family will be the first to feature the M14 technology, set to be unveiled by Google on August 13. In addition to the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, rumors suggest that the second-generation Pixel Fold will also incorporate the M14 material.

This will be the first time we see this material on a smartphone, and it is anticipated to outshine existing technologies in terms of brightness and durability. Apple will exclusively incorporate the M14 technology in its high-end iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, while the standard and Plus versions will stick with the current generation’s M12 technology. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, are also rumored to utilize M12 OLED screens. Apple’s new lineup is expected to be unveiled in September.

According to a previous report, it is probable that the iPhone 17 series next year will continue to use M14 screens, as each material generation is typically utilized for a two-year period.

It is expected that the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung’s top-tier traditional phone, will come with an M13 panel. It is also anticipated that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely have an M14 display.
