Samsung Galaxy S24 FE battery revealed in FCC listing

Samsung is preparing to launch the budget-friendly Fan Edition of the Galaxy S24 series, which debuted earlier this year. The Galaxy S24 FE has recently received FCC certification, signaling that its release is imminent.

Notably, this year’s Galaxy S24 FE will feature a display size similar to that of the Galaxy S24+, instead of the screen dimensions of the standard Galaxy S24 that previous models had. This change makes it an appealing option for consumers looking for a larger display at a significantly lower price than the S24+.

In the past, the Galaxy FE editions featured a relatively small 6.4-inch display by today’s standards, placing it between the 6.2-inch Galaxy S24 and the 6.7-inch S24+. Considering that the S24 is priced at $799 and the S24+ at $999, the $629 price tag of the Fan Editions didn’t provide a compelling reason to purchase them before the release of the actual S24.

However, with the Galaxy S24 FE now equipped with a 6.7-inch display, it becomes a stronger competitor without overshadowing the considerably pricier S24+.

The S24 FE is anticipated to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in the United States, while international models will feature an Exynos 2400e processor. This new chipset offers significant enhancements in both raw performance and energy efficiency compared to last year’s Exynos 2200.

The triple rear-facing camera system, consisting of 50MP, 12MP, and 8MP sensors, will likely feel familiar to Galaxy S23 FE users.

The standard Exynos 2400 is a deca-core chip with ten CPU cores. It includes one Cortex-X4 prime CPU core that can operate at a clock speed of up to 3.21GHz.

Additionally, there are two efficiency-oriented Cortex-A720 CPU cores running at speeds of up to 2.9GHz, alongside three more Cortex-A720 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.6GHz. Finally, the chip features four Cortex-A520 efficiency CPU cores, with a maximum clock speed of 1.95GHz.

The FCC listing also confirmed that the Galaxy S24 FE will feature a fairly large 4,565 mAh battery, which is only slightly different from its predecessor. However, the implementation of a more efficient display and processor is expected to enhance battery life in comparison to the previous model.
