Rumors about the Galaxy S25 have been accumulating over the past few weeks, just before the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 next month. Several leaks have already surfaced regarding the Galaxy S25, including an IMEI listing, a potential camera sensor upgrade for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and rumored pricing details.

However, today’s information is particularly significant as it pertains to a sensitive topic – the chipset. Renowned insider Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that Qualcomm is likely to be the exclusive supplier of the SoC for the Samsung Galaxy S25, as opposed to supplying only 40% for the S24.
Android Central was the first to report the information, but the post on X (formerly Twitter) provides insight into the true reasons why Samsung may choose to not include Exynos in the Galaxy S25 series, which may surprise you.
In recent years, Samsung has faced criticism for using Exynos chips in their flagship models, as they have been found to sometimes underperform compared to models equipped with Snapdragon chips. This led to a petition from disgruntled users calling for Exynos chips to be banned from Samsung’s flagship smartphones.
However, the situation appears to be different now, as analyst Kuo suggests that Samsung’s decision to exclusively use Qualcomm as a supplier is due to issues with the 3nm yield of Samsung’s chips. The Galaxy S25 series was initially planned to feature the Exynos 2500 as an alternative to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in certain markets, such as Europe, the UK, and India.
The more expensive Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could result in higher prices for Galaxy S25 devices.
Ming-Chi Kuo continues by analyzing the impact of this situation, mentioning that it will benefit Qualcomm and TSMC, particularly since TSMC is the sole manufacturer of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 silicon.
DigitalChatStation’s most recent information suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be notably pricier than its previous version, resulting in greater financial gains for both TSMC and Qualcomm.
It is not clear if this will result in a price increase for the MSRP of the Galaxy S25 series. It is important to approach this rumor with caution, considering it is just that – a rumor. However, given Ming-Chi Kuo’s reliable track record, there is a high likelihood that the Galaxy S25 series will exclusively feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 silicon.
