A few days ago, we reported on Xiaomi’s latest smartwatch, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite, which was anticipated to launch on September 25.

Now that it has officially been unveiled, we want to emphasize that it’s worth purchasing, even if you don’t necessarily need another smartwatch.

The reason isn’t just its appealing design or impressive specifications; it’s primarily due to its incredibly low price. Currently, customers in India can buy the Redmi Watch 5 Lite for only Rs 3,300, which is approximately $40 or €35.

The watch is available in two colors—Black and Light Gold—both priced the same.

It’s important to note that this low price includes a significant discount that won’t last long.

Typically, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite retails for Rs 7,000 ($85 / €75), which is still a reasonable price considering its features. Speaking of features, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite has commendable specifications on paper.

It boasts a large 1.95-inch AMOLED display with a brightness of 600 nits and a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels, along with built-in GPS and Alexa support.

The watch is equipped with a 470 mAh battery that promises up to 18 days of battery life in typical usage mode and 12 days under heavy usage.

If accurate, these estimates are quite impressive.

Weighing just 29 grams (without the strap) and measuring 11.4 mm in thickness, the new Redmi Watch 5 Lite is lightweight and slim. It also includes numerous useful features, such as the ability to answer and decline calls, make emergency SOS calls, access call history with up to 30 entries, receive incoming call notifications, and add up to 10 favorite contacts through the Mi Fitness app.

The smartwatch is fully compatible with smartphones running Android 6.0 or higher and iOS 12.0 or higher.

Xiaomi also claims that the Redmi Watch 5 Lite has a 5 ATM IP rating.

Other notable features of this budget smartwatch include Bluetooth 5.3, over 160 sports modes, a heart rate sensor (which includes a blood oxygen sensor), an accelerometer, a gyroscope, more than 200 cloud watch faces (with over 50 customizable options and 30 always-on-display screens), emoji support, and two microphones.

However, one drawback of the Redmi Watch 5 Lite is that it operates on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, so if you prefer WearOS, you may want to consider other options.
