Apple starts iPhone 16 shipments; tracking now available

Apple has begun shipping iPhone 16 orders, so you can now track them online. If you pre-ordered an iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max, you can check the status of your order.

The official release date is September 20th, and if you visit Apple’s website to check your order today, you’ll see that the phone is currently marked as “preparing to ship.” This information may not be particularly revealing, and you likely won’t receive a more precise update from Apple until we approach the official release date.

However, there is a way to get more current information about your order by visiting the United Parcel Service (UPS) website. By using the UPS site, you can access additional details and track your new device’s journey as it moves through various cities and UPS hubs before arriving at your front door.

To enroll in the UPS My Choice program, simply visit UPS.com from your browser. You can choose between a free version of the program or a premium service that costs $19.99 per year.

The main distinction between the two options is that some actions available for free in the paid version may incur additional charges in the free version.

If you don’t intend to change your delivery date or have your iPhone shipped to a different address, the free version should suffice. After successfully signing up for the UPS My Choice program, you’ll be able to view all deliveries scheduled for your address.

Previously, you could track your shipment via the “Track by Reference Number” feature, which used the phone number you provided when ordering your iPhone, minus the last two digits. However, for security reasons, this feature has been modified, making the UPS My Choice program the best option for tracking your new iPhone shipment without a sticker.

Don’t worry if you don’t see any tracking information for your order yet, as not all packages may have been handed over to UPS. Just check back with UPS daily until you receive an updated status on your order. From that point on, continue to check in with UPS each day until your package arrives at your doorstep.
