Motorola Razr 50s Budget Foldable Launching Monday?
A new Motorola Razr foldable phone may be on the horizon, referred to as the Razr 50s, which is expected to be an affordable clamshell model.
MySmartPrice discovered the phone listed in the HDR10+ certification database. As is typical for phones found in this database, the Razr 50s will feature an HDR10+ display, enabling it to offer enhanced dynamic range and more precise colors with improved detail and depth. This HDR10+ display was the only information available from the phone’s listing in the certification database.
Motorola has already launched the Razr (2024) and the Razr+ (2024), also known as the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra. Both of these models support HDR10+, with the Razr+ (2024) additionally featuring Dolby Vision. The Razr+ (2024) boasts a 6.9-inch pOLED display, a resolution of 1080 x 2640, and a refresh rate of 165Hz.
It includes a sizable 4-inch Quick View screen and is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 application processor (AP). The device offers 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, along with a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
The front camera has a resolution of 32MP. A 4000mAh battery, capable of 45W wired and 15W wireless charging, powers the device, which comes with Android 14 pre-installed and has an X8 IP rating.
The internal display of the Razr (2024) is the same as that of the Razr+ (2024). While the phone doesn’t feature a 4-inch Quick View screen, its size of 3.6 inches is still quite substantial.
Instead of a Qualcomm processor, it is equipped with a 4nm Dimensity 7300X chip, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP main camera and a 13MP sensor for the ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera.
The clamshell design houses a 4200mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging and 5W wireless charging. Android 14 comes pre-installed. Regarding the Razr 50s, MySmartPrice reports that it will be launched in India on September 9th, coinciding with Apple’s Glowtime event. This model will also feature a 3.6-inch Quick View display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Both the primary and ultra-wide cameras will utilize 50MP sensors, and it will include a 32MP front-facing camera.
It remains uncertain whether the Razr 50s will be available in the U.S. or what application processor will be utilized. This marks the third occasion that Motorola has released three Razr models in a single year, and we will keep you updated as more information about this model becomes available.
