The 2024 Olympic Games are currently underway, with YouTube providing extensive coverage and allowing viewers to experience the games through the perspective of their favorite creators. A new blog post from YouTube outlines how to stay updated on the event, while NBC serves as the primary broadcaster in the US, offering coverage in 4K on YouTube TV and highlights on the platform.
Additionally, more than 30 renowned YouTube creators were invited to Paris to provide commentary on the Olympics for their viewers. Among them are Haley Kalil, Jeenie Weenie, Kristy Scott, Rick Azas, Liza Baez, Enaldinho, Robbie Lyle, Gabinouvilla, Underrated Hijabi, Paul Ferrer Z, Tina Yong, and RJ Karishma.
According to YouTube, the creators are collaborating with official broadcasters to provide their insights on game events.
Moreover, viewers from Brazil and 17 other Spanish and Latin American countries who are fans of the Olympic games will have the opportunity to watch live streams through CazéTV (Brazil only) and Claro Sports broadcasters.
I remember when being a YouTuber wasn’t considered a profession, but now they are invited to events alongside traditional journalists. I appreciate this because it provides a different viewpoint and allows content creators to experience events firsthand. Although I don’t personally watch these YouTubers, I’m glad their fans can hear their perspectives on games as they happen.
