A smartwatch is a wrist-worn computer that offers a touchscreen interface for daily use, with additional functionality provided by a smartphone app for tasks like monitoring and management. While early models were limited to basic functions like calculations and timekeeping, modern smartwatches are more akin to smartphones, offering a range of features such as mobile apps, operating systems, and connectivity options like WiFi and Bluetooth. Some smartwatches also double as media players, allowing users to listen to FM radio or play digital audio and video files through a Bluetooth headset. Certain models, known as 'watch phones,' even have cellular capabilities for making calls. The popularity of smartwatches, smart bands, and fitness trackers has been on the rise in Bangladesh since 2024.
