Amazon leaks Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 release date

Amazon leaks Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 release date

Just a few days after Samsung accidentally revealed the name of its upcoming premium Apple Watch Ultra alternative for summer 2024, their other smartwatch set to be released in the coming weeks unexpectedly appeared on Amazon.

Even though the Canadian product listing was swiftly and predictably removed, we are aware that once something is on the internet, it tends to remain in some capacity. PassionateGeekz was able to notice the leaked information early on and save a copy of it for future reference.

Today, the key details of the Galaxy Watch 7 were revealed.

A 3nm processor is specifically designed to improve power efficiency, a 40mm case is included, the BioActiveSensor2 enables more precise heart rate monitoring during physical activity and sleep, a personalized AI companion assists with sleep, exercise, and communication, the Galaxy AI offers smart replies, the battery life has been enhanced to last up to 100 hours between charges in Power Saving Mode or Stamina Mode, and the product will be released on July 10th.

Honestly, we are somewhat disappointed by the lack of information provided by Amazon Canada in this accidental listing. There are no product images, credible details on features such as storage, memory, battery capacity, or screen resolution, and we have doubts about the reliability of the price of CAD 358.55.

The main reason for this is its unusualness compared to most of the top smartwatches available today, particularly the Galaxy Watch 6. Samsung’s non-Classic 2023 model usually retails for 310 Canadian Dollars in an entry-level Bluetooth-only 40mm version, but even Amazon’s current discounted price of $250 is significantly higher than $358.55.

The Galaxy Watch 7 was previously rumoured to have a starting price of approximately $300 in the US, aligning with the cost of its predecessor. This suggests that we can likely anticipate a similar price of 310 Canadian dollars.

It is clear that pre-orders have not started anywhere in the world yet, but if the Galaxy Watch 7 is released on July 10, an official announcement could be made soon. There is a chance that Samsung’s new smartwatches will be revealed and available for pre-order worldwide before the company’s scheduled Unpacked event for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 on July 10.

Will artificial intelligence be the top selling point in this case?

It is naturally too early to say for certain, but the list of features above strongly indicates that this could be the case, especially if the overall look of the Galaxy Watch 7 remains largely the same as the Galaxy Watch 6.

When it comes to the Galaxy Watch 6, it is highly likely that the AI features and capabilities of the Watch 7 will eventually be added to the Watch 6 through a software update. This makes it even more important to consider other upgrades for the distinctive charm of Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch.

For example, the 3-nanometer processor is expected to enhance both performance and energy efficiency, enabling the Galaxy Watch 7 to have longer battery life without increasing the size of the battery. Although some specifics are still unknown, it is likely that the upgraded chip in this device is the Samsung-made Exynos W1000, a significant improvement from the Exynos W930 in the Galaxy Watch 6.

The Galaxy Watch 7, like the model before it, is anticipated to be available in two sizes. Both sizes will feature a high-quality Super AMOLED touchscreen, aiming to rival the impressive Retina panel expected on the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10.
